The Artisan Edit: A collision of Art, Fashion and Home

On April 24th, I had the joy of celebrating the launch of The Artisan Edit, a collaborative project that brings together my artwork with the bold fashion design of Frederick Morrison (This is Fred), all under the creative umbrella of The Slate, a luxury resort in Phuket.

Guests interact with handcrafted textiles and decor at the launch of The Artisan Edit in Bangkok. The exclusive collection—featuring bold patterns by Trey Hurst and fashion by This is Fred—is now available at The Slate Phuket’s Stockroom.

The event took place at The Slate Workspace in Bangkok, a fitting venue to debut a collection that’s all about the intersection of art, fashion, and home. This project was months in the making and is deeply rooted in ideas I’ve explored for years—place and memory, architecture and nature, surface and form.

Fred and I were invited by The Slate Phuket to create something that would reflect their signature style—bold, expressive, and just a little bit unexpected. The result is The Artisan Edit, a gender-fluid capsule collection of sculptural streetwear and artisanal homewares, including pillows, napkins, and placemats.

This isn’t my first collaboration with The Slate, and every time I work with them I’m reminded how rare it is to find a team that supports artists so wholeheartedly.

The launch event in Bangkok was so much fun, we had a great turnout. Fred and I had a chance to talk about our process, and guests were able to experience the work up close. Chefs from The Slate provided beautiful food and drinks, and we really felt transported to Phuket. It was an incredible way to mark the beginning of this collaboration.

The full collection is now available exclusively at The Stockroom at The Slate Phuket. If you find yourself there, I highly recommend stopping in to see the pieces in person. Each one carries its own rhythm, texture, and story.

Big thanks to The Slate for making this collaboration possible and to everyone who joined us for the launch! It was a night to remember.
